The Quality of Life in East Texas cannot be matched. If you are looking to get out of the "rat race" while still accomplishing your corporate goals, East Texas is for you. The region is one full of lakes, golf courses, enormous pine trees, and fresh air. With Dallas 120 miles west and Shreveport located 60 miles to the east, you can get a glimpse of the big city within hours should you need it. In the meantime, enjoy relaxing by any one of the many lakes in the area. Or take time on the weekend to attend the Hot Air Balloon Festival or one of the area zoos. Try your hand at bass fishing or accomplish a goal of visiting every golf course in Texas.

Education

From an educational perspective, East Texas offers 230 public, 23 private, and 4 Catholic schools within an 11-county area.  Additionally, there are over 14 colleges, universities and technical schools in the region.

The cost of living in East Texas is markedly below that of other areas in the country. In fact, our cost of living is approximately 15% below that of the national average.
